Unhappy This is making me mad!!! LimeWire.lax file prob.....

Hello all:

I need either an application or a way to get rid of this file. The file called LimeWire.lax. I was trying to open lime 1.8 and it told me it couldn't b/c of the file .lax. So I decided ok, let me uninstall, it said it couldn't one file was corrupted. I threw lime in the trash, it deleted evreything except that file. It says it's 3.9gigs, I know it's wrong and maybe corrupted.

I tried everything except using the boot disk, and I don't really want to b/c this is my computers work. My OS btw is 8.6

Things I've done to get rid of the file:

trash it
force delete it (option + click)
I tried turning extensions off to delete, nothing
using application FlameFile™ & Shreddit™
tried renaming
I tried installing lime, replacing file w/the new one, nothing

This is really frustrating me One more thing when I tried to trash it, it gave error -127 then it said continue then it said error -1,085

Please some one help, I don't want to ask my work techie b/c I don't want to get in trouble

With errors such as these, it would be very wise to run a diagnostic program such as Norton or TechTools, then rebuild the desktop (apple+option at startup). Sounds like directory damage.

Disk First Aid (it should already be on the computer) may fix the problem if Norton or TechTool aren't readily available.

Before you try Norton:

You should seriously try Alsoft's Diskwarrior. It is honestly the absolute best program out there. It has saved my @ss on several occasions, this past Saturday being the latest. If you get serious errors that Disk First Aid says it can't repair, you need this app.

Other utilities can often do more damage and make things worse. DiskWarrior will actually let you preview what the "repaired" disk will look like. You can even check that "preview" disk w/ Disk First Aid to see that the errors were repaired prior to actually repairing the directory.

Check it out here:

Hope this helps....

It might be a virus.

Try disk first aid. It will probably tell you if you have a problem, but it more than likely will not correct it.
