Here's one for ya... It has nothing to do with LM but this is the "General Mac" board after all. I downloaded and bought Audion 1.5 about 2 years ago. Not long after that it would not open. So I put it in the trash so I could reinstall and it said that what I was throwing away had 635 MG. That's right 635 MG! Now I'm afraid to throw it away because who knows what goes with it, there's no way that Audion is 635 MGs. I wrote the company and they were no help at all. |
Hello! Maybe Audion has utilized some un used space on your HD as a scratch disk for a project that you was working on that can count for the extra data. But just to make sure do not trash it yet instead look into each and every file ascociated with it and do a File Show info memory command on all of them to see if you can find the big file in question. If not then use Disk First Aid to check for directory damage on your HD and also use Tech Tool lite to delete desktop file and zap PRAM.And also you could use Sherlock to check for any potentional hidden files that can count for the extra space. And ofcourse you should check that you do not have any other files in the trash. |
It won't open. I have used a couple of virus protection programs and it won't open for them either. They only say that there's a possible Sevendust virus but can't say because it won't open. When I try to open it, it say an error of type 199 occurs. Any idea what that is? I'm just afraid that a bunch of my mp3s will disappear if I throw it away so I guess I won't. No big deal, Audion sucks. |
Zapping the pram only helps in rather limited situations, but it does give you something to do, I suppose, even if it doesn't help much. If your mp3 files are OK, that is, they can be played in iTunes or some other program, go ahead and toss the bloated Audion file, then rebuild the desktop after running Norton or TechTools (and yes, I know some of you think Norton is dreadful, but it's always worked fine for me). If there are no other problems showing up in terms of file size, icon appearance, or finder errors, the problem is likely limited to that file alone. I'm not sure Audion is still available, but save your serial and download it again. I tried the prog. out a couple of times but didn't see any advantage over iTunes or Soundjam (unfortunately no longer around). |
