Angry Limewire Crashing!

I have the latest version of Limewire, running Mac OS9.2 . When I click on anything that has nothing in regard to limewire, Limewire crashes. Has this happened to anyone at all? Any tips or help?

Not sure about clicking on "anything" other than LW, but if that "anything" is the top menu bar on OS 9.x, then there is an answer. There is a conflict between Java and the fax extensions defaulted to install each time you boot. Disable them (of course you have to enable them again if you actually use this software), and LW will not crash any longer if you happen to click on the finder menu bar.

Red face no fax extensions

I have the same crashing problem (only on menu pull down bar) and no fax extensions whatsoever installed? Any other extensions that may be conflicting?

Unless you disabled them, the fax extensions are installed and activated by default in 9.1-2. Look in extensions on/off and disable the three extensions with "STF" in their names. I'm not sure exactly what their names will be, since I am using German OS 9.2. Just for good measure, look for Fax Monitor and Fax Print.

An object lesson in the screwy world of extension conflicts...what on earth should these extensions have to do with Java or Limewire?
