Editing/Splitting MP3 files Hi everyone, Can anybody recommend any software for the Mac which will let me edit/split MP3 files? I have a couple of complete albums which I have downloaded as single files and would like to split them into the separate tracks so that they can be shared. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Limey |
I found Audion could edit my MP3s mainly trimming the ends of a file. To split an MP3 you could make two editing windows and cut and paste among them to make separate tracks. <http://www.panic.com/audion/> |
There is a shareware program called "SnipIt" at versiontracker.com that is designed for just this very thing. I have never used it, however, so I can't say if it does what it is designed to do. |
There are a number of audio applications that allow you to edit mp3s, but Quicktime will also do the trick. Make sure you have the latest version, as some older QT versions don't handle mp3. http://www.Apple.com/quicktime/download/ 1. Drag the mp3 onto Quicktime Player. 2. Drag the two little triangular selection points until they mark the beginning and end of the part you want to extract. 3. Press Command C (copy selection) 4. Open a new player window (command N) 5. Paste the extract into the new window (command V) 6. Save this new file. |
