Default ANY way to get incompletes to finish downloading...

...without having to look each one up again? And has anyone thought of adding this as a feature to LWPro?

If every Limewire client kept sending out more frequent searches automatically, it would needlessly clog the network. The "waiting for requery" actually does work sometimes, though not often.

Default Requery

Hmmmm. So does the requery really only work for a short time, or only if you have a limited number running? Seems like I hit a wall if I have more than a few going; then none of them ever seem to connect. If I shut down and I have requeries going, is there any point in trying to reinitiate them next session or do I have to look up the item again?

Thanks for your reply, btw. I am simultaneously delighted with a completely frustrated this new world of peer-to-peer downloads.

Requeries continue as long as the download is active in your tray. It sends out a new query at specific intervals. Of course it is best to search actively for the files you want, though as I said, the requery does sometimes find something.

The more you have in requery the longer it takes to get a particular file since requeries are divided among the downloads.

It seems like there are two phenomena being discussed here: requeries for downloads that have either stalled or couldn't be started to begin with, and (in my mind) getting partial downloads to complete when starting up a new session.

I have had success with both, although I find that rarely does a download start or complete during the session in which it was initiated--most likely the source has logged off. However, I've been pleasantly surprised to find a download restart when I sign on the next time.

In a similar vein, though, I'd like to be able to "refresh" an existing search--to see if new sources are available or if the source of my download has logged off--rather than having to re-enter my search criteria. Is there any way to do this, or any plans to include it in future releases?

Regards,
Lou

You can Command-Click on the specific search tab and a menu will pop up where you can choose to repeat the search.

Thanks Julie!! That's exactly what I was looking for (and expecting)--but I was making the "mistake" of holding down the mouse button rather than clicking and releasing.
