![]() I have a G4 Apple Computer, including a Limewire on my system and a iTunes. I have been trying to move my Limewire files to my itunes files. It hasn't been working at all. I was thinking of maybe changing the default player from Limewire to the one in itunes or another program on my computer similiar to it. Unfortuantely, I don't even know how to change the default player either. Can anybody please help to transfer the files from Limewire to itunes safely. your help would be greatly appreciated. thank you very much. |

![]() Leybman, I had the same problem with my default player and received the answer here. Open iTunes and go to preferences-general. You will see "Use iTunes for Internet Music Playback". Hit the "Set" button and close the preferences. You now have iTunes set as the default player. If you click on "Launch" in LimeWire, it will play your song in iTunes, and the song will be added to your iTunes Library. Also, if you open your LimeWire shared folder, and drag a song to your iTunes library, the song will be added to the library. The file itself will still remain in your LimeWire shared folder on your hard drive. If you copy the songs to your iTunes folder first, then drag to the library, all of your music will be stored together in one folder. Hope this helps. I'm afraid if I say any more, I'll confuse all of us. |

![]() I'm new to limewire for Mac. I'm having the same problem. I set itunes (itunes2.04 running on os 9.1) as the player for internet music in the prefs. but when i click on them in my limewire library they still open with Quicktime!! this is getting annoying. If anyone else has any advice I'd be really appreciative to hear it. thanks! mike ps. also using limewire for pc's, one can right click on the header for each of your searches and repeat them quickly and effortlessly. Is ther any similar feature using limewire 2.5 for mac? (instead of retyping each search to obtain new results ![]() |

![]() looks like everyone's got the same problem. I got it all squared away now after a little reading right here. I think it was Macterminator who answered it best. I'd still like to know, however, if there is a quicker and better way of searching files. When i was using the pc version some returns i got when i searched had the IP address in red, and these i knew i couldn't connect to download... However, there is no such thing for Mac (i think) Some many downloads i try do that requery thing. I just started Mac Limewire, and i really hope I get it to work as good as i had on pc. One more question; is there *any* way to get all my mp3's from my pc to my Mac?(i think i'll just end up re-downloading most of the songs) I just got my ipod yesterday (still in box!) and am dying to play with it! Thanks! mikey |

![]() hey thanks MacTerminater! I hate to inundate you with questions..BUT, is there any other way that I could get the mp3's short of a cd burner...I don't have one... i decided on IPOD instead of the CD-r. Is there a way of trading them thru a network connection of some sort. Or maybe compressing a bunch at a time and emailing them? anyway thanks for everything! mikey |

Typically, when you Launch your mp3's through LimeWire, they will play choppy. If you set your preferences for iTunes, not sure why QuickTime is opening. As for dragging files from LimeWire: You can't drag them from LimeWire's Library. You have to go to your Hard Drive and drag them from your actual shared folder. LimeWire Library is just a listing of what is in that folder. Not the files themselves. Hope this helps. |

![]() Thanks, Julie Z. I hadn't used Limewire for a long time and when I started using it again recently, I had to upgrade, and that's when my problems started. Now, when I go to the SHARED folder, I only see old files I'd downloaded long ago, and I cannot see the recent files that are in my LIBRARY. If you have time, can you tell me how to get files to appear in the SHARED folder? Thanks... I'll keep trying! |

![]() When you download/upgrade LimeWire, it sets a default Shared Folder. On Mac, I think it's in Preferences. What you should do is: Go to Tools and choose: Options (a new window will open) Click on Sharing. This will show you where the Shared Folder is. I believe LimeWire also downloads to this folder. (Make note of the location) Click once on this folder (to hightlight it) and click Remove. Click Add and browse to find the folder you want to share and click Select. You should also go to Saving and change the folder there, too. Same way. Then go to the folder that LimeWire was saving to/sharing (on your Hard Drive, from the Finder) and move the files into the Shared Folder of your choice. Then trash the folder. When you re-open LimeWire, it will take some time to hash your old and new files. Give it time. They will eventually all show up in your Library. I hope this all makes sense. Good luck. |
