Default LW Crashes if Another App is Accessed During Download

I am running LimeWire 2.6.5 on an iBook running OS 9.2.1. With this version (as well as previous versions), downloading works fine as long as I don't switch to another application while LimeWire is running. If I do try to access another application, LimeWire crashes with a Type 2 error. In addition, all the drop down menus (for all apps including the Finder) lose the ability to access submenus (i.e., when you click on a drop down menu, there are no right arrows to let you choose the next menu). Very bizarre! Any thoughts?

what works on my system is before you either click on apple or finder window is 2 activate an other window on your desktop for example have your hd window open en make it the active window so it covers limewire than u should be able to start another app.

Default

I have found that if I use LW to launch a successfully-downloaded file (such as from the Library) or if I use the Help menu to access the Forum or FAQ, then the appropriate application will operate without problems. From there, I can switch to the Finder and Hide Others from the application menu. The control strip also works without the problem occurring.

Obviously, I'm not happy with this behaviour, but having the workarounds described above at least lets me get on with my work.
