makes no difference
2.8.4 (2.8.5 isn't there when I go to http://www.limewire.com/index.jsp/download#free)
does the same thing - crash...

I have constant crashing problems too
I run 9.1 and the latest version of Limewire. I sometime can download, but then Limewire will suddenly crash. Sometimes it crashes on startup, sometimes a bit later. There seems to be no pattern about when it crashes. I have a cable modem and the performance of Limewire has decreased since I first installed it. Could there somehow be an issue with the cable modem and limewire?
