Exclamation search not appearing?

An interesting problem here: When I search for anything, the small tab with the artists name appears, and so does the number in the brackets indicating how many songs have been found for me to download, however in the main screen, the list of song titles does not appear, and there is nothing to click on. When I change my user on the OS; and open limewire from there, the list of songs to download appears just fine. I have changed my settings on the user which doesnt work to nearly the same as in the one that does, but there is no change. Whats the matter, and how do I correct it?

(im using the newest version of Limewire, and I have downloaded and installed it twice, to be sure it was not the file)

Thank you

I'm assuming that something shows up in the main window. Like the quality (stars) or number of files... Anyway, command-click on one of the columns and then a menu should come up listing your options of what you would like to see in these columns: bitrate, title, size, location, quality, etc. There are check boxes to click. Make sure title is chosen. That should fix the problem.

no, im afraid nothing appears in the main window. no quality, song title, bit rate, chat option (the smiley face)... nothing.

Thinking it would be best to at least try your suggestion, i tried to command click in random points in the main window after putting in a search, the little menu that pops up allowed me the option to 'download', but i didnt know what i was downloading. It seems that all the things in the main window are 'invisible'... they are there, i just cant read them!

I really do not understand.

Ooops. Sorry. It's contol-click (not command-click). Do you have a blue/gray border at the top of the main search window? It would be below your search tab. Where the columns are supposed to be. Try control-clicking there and you should see the list of options for the columns.

No, Im afraid there is no blue/gray border that can be control (or command!) clicked on... the only change to the main window is that the tab showing the name of the search, and the number of results (the one in brackets)... :S

So, directly below the tab of your search title and number of files is just a white screen? Hmmm... I don't know what else then.

Try doing a search on this forum for your problem. I know I've seen other posts about it.

Good luck. Sorry.

Default Try this:

If you are on a Mac and are trying to use LW 2.8.x

Many Mac users are having problems with this version of LW. I recommend you roll back to LW 2.7.13, which I had to do to get anywhere, until they get the bugs worked out.

I have what appears to be the same sort of issue with my copy of Limewire, but the strange thing is that Limewire has been running fine on my little 333 Imac for about 9 months now. I've been using OS 9.2.2 for the last few months with no problems. I do not have the very most recent version of Limewire because my short 6-month update rights apparently just ran out.

So, I'm going to try the earlier version (thanks for the advice). Hopefully it works ok, though I'm not too keen on going back a version. And I'm a little peeved that it happened right after my updates ran out... What's up with that? I'll begrudgingly admit that it's probably just a coincidence, but it sure reminds me of the Dilbert cartoon I saw recently where the software salesperson says "give us a million dollars to upgrade or suffer our planned obsolescence." When Dilbert says he cannot afford to upgrade then, the salesperson pulls out a little detonator remote and says "Say goodbye to the digits 3 and 9."

Ah, I see now. Maybe it *wasn't a coincidence* -- maybe the strip was really talking about Limewire!
