Unhappy Can't shut down. Please help.

I've been using Limewire for some time. Lately, it seems to be very sluggish and has trouble responding to my mouse. When I try to close out the program in the window nothing happens and I have "force quit" to get out.
Its happen with the latest version and even with an older version (2-7). I've re-installed about three times already with no results. Anybody have any suggestions?

For one, you have to stop any uploads that are going on. I assume the same for downloads. Often the only way it will shut down for me is if I kill any attemped "requery sent" waiting downloads..
