Bogus files--what are they?

Recently, whenever I search a song or artist, I get a list of small files with descriptors like "The real thing" or "awesome" or "please share. The files are from 19 to 378kb and always the same, regardless of what I am searching. Does anyone know what these are, or why this is happening?

they're not good. Search in these forums for "awesome" to find the IP addresses you can block in your Limewire prefs. You'll find lots of people have posted about this problem and come up with lots of workarounds. Looks like the next version will have a way to block them more easily.

Just block the IP. They are spam, and could even contain virii.
