Hi,
Download 2.9.6 and you will not get the requery message.

Hi,
"Could Not Download" replaces the "Requery" message. It says what it means, it means what it says. I'm no expert, I pick up what I read in other peoples posts. Correct me if I'm wrong Guys & Gals. The "Requery" kept searching for the file, harming the network performance. Where as "Could Not Download" means you have to manually do a search again to try and get the file.

uhh.... Hi? Is that a Requery? Sorry query?

Hmmm. This a tough one. You've said the necessary, Jack, but I think it's really a language problem. I haven't watched Airplane for a while, so excuse me if my reply is in archaic acronymic RANT.

Maybe ViRuS eRrOr is a switcher? Perhaps this should be the answer:
"WTF MUTHA! U WAN free MP3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! APppLY crowbar TO F'N TUNES establishment--MUCHO MUSAKO! GET A WINDOWS BOXANDSHUV THE pissass APPLE west coat FAGGY M ,FNA,FGFKQHJ[I."

[go to your music store and buy CD's should be the answer]. As for how to "get rid of this pain in the neck?", that's too tempting and KathW is right. The "they all say . . .these people want me to go insane" is more of a problem. Perhaps ViRuS eRrOr thinks that the info strings are like chat lines and thinks there are malicious people who are typing that answer in real time. That may explain thinking getting emotional at a screen will get a human response, and would be very understandable. I would be mad (angry, not nuts) too. The answer that people turn off their computers, refuse connections, stop sharing files/connections or use them to do whatever they want is not likely to be a satisfactory answer. Hosts disconnect--info message should say "search again." Perhaps an answer that confirms a conspiracy theory would work. How about:

"U thnk I SharRE MY TUNES JUST FOR U ASSWIPESCUMSUCK? I IS pHRAcking YOUR BOX TO sCore yurTunES MAN so OPEN WIDEEEE sucka!"

Sorry--just having fun, as I'm sure virus error is just having fun with a little hyperbole too. An additional answer to the "could not download" problem is that 2.9.5 revealed some problem with the download.dat file getting corrupted in the incomplete folder, so trashing the contents of the incomplete folder and sadly starting again is necessary. 2.9.7 also fixes some mac problems, so another download may help. Still, all these answers depend on understanding that Limewire is a PROJECT, depends on a good-faith community, and is still under construction.

not sure--I think it stores the info about incomplete downloads, particularly swarmed downloads and maybe the "alernate sources". I've got a record number of uploads going on right now, so I don't want to risk looking in it just now. Could you look at it with textedit or bbedit maybe? I'd look for IP's and maybe some kind of allocation map for the chunks

I read somewhere that "there's unfortunately no way to tell which incomplete files are having problems. You should probably simply delete your downloads.dat file, unfortunately."

btw--if my previous post made you mad--sorry: I was getting silly and thought you'd enjoy it. Let me know and I'll edit it.

Hi Stief,
I thought it was some kind of data file but I was not sure. It sounds a bit complicated for me, I will pick it up a bit at a time.

Your last post was not getting me mad, it's just my sense of humour. It's actually quite funny, got to have a laugh as you learn.
