Angry error of type 1

Can someone help me? I keep getting error type 1 messages when I'm trying to launch. I'm on system 9.1. I don't seem to have any fax extensions loaded and I've increased my memory to limewire. I'm very fustrated considering I just purchased the software and killed my morning with this problem!

CAN SOMEONE FROM LIMEWIRE HELP!!!!!

Thanks Joakim, I tried that and still no luck

I downloaded the MRJ
installed it
restarted
trashed old limewire files
downloaded new limewire installer
installed it
restarted
error type1

You mentioned I need to increase memory to MJR, how do I do that?

Hello!

To increase the memory allocation to MRJ just highlight the original application icon and then from the File Menu select Show Info then from the submenu select memory. Here increase the maximum setting(but dont touch the minimum settings) the maximum should be set to 32000. Then re-start your computer for the changes to take effect. Now try to Launch LW and see if it works. By the way in which way did you install MRJ. One common mistake is to accept the LW installers question that it has a newer version of MRJ included and it asks you if you want the installer to install that too. You should refuse that offer. Instead you should download the MRJ installer from here and install it using its installer. For some reason the LW installer has never been good at installing MRJ for you. Here is the link:

MRJ 2.2.5

Ok, so I'm stupid and it seems I have a lot of company, where the hell is this installed on OS 9? I've run the installer and done a Find on "MRJ." There isn't a MRJ application to be found. Does it go by another name?

Hello!

No you are not stupid!

It is situated at the following place in Mac OS 9.1X

Macintosh HD>Applications(Mac OS 9)>Apple Extras(sometimes also called programs and accessorys/extras)>Mac OS Runtime For Java>Apple Applet Reader>Apple Applet Reader application icon

If you still cannot find it use Sherlock 2 and search for it by using the string Apple Applet Reader.

Angry

I'm having the same problem. I get error type 1 every time I try to launch 2.9.8, which I just installed. I've unistalled Limewire, then installed the MRJ 2.5.5 version that was in this message thread, restarted, increased memory for the Apple Applet Runner, but still I get the same error when launching Limewire. Maybe there is a bug in the software?
