Having updated to the latest Limewire version I discover that I can not any more open my files. I run the latest Quicktime version on my Mac OS 9.1. Quicktime & iTunes work fine otherwise. So tyhe bug must be with Limewire.

As I have already checke that my files downloaded are real mp3 /mpg files and I retried several times with various music files, I am desperate.
Shall I return to a previous version of Limewire?

Do you mean the mpg and mp3 files won't open with LW Mediaplayer or in QT and iTunes?

As I use OS9 as far as I know there is no media player included with LW. I tried opening in QT, iTunes and even SoundJam, nothinh works. Get reply "Opening not possible as this is no file that can be read by QT". This applies even to the LW player funktion which obviously itself is just a link into Quicktime.
As I see after download LW "checks" files, I have a feeling that it changes the file in a way making it impossible for QT etc to open. Just a guess.

Maybe someone can help ??

i use 9.2 and i dont usually get problems opening files but sometimes i find if i drag them to a new folder on the desktop it helps
give that a try--
