Default Download may have destoyed my computer.

I don't know what just happened. I'm typing from a different computer now, but I was downloading MP3's on MY computer and a weird half japanese message appeared. Lots of beeping. In English it told me I had to restart my imac, and, indeed I did, as nothing else worked. Now it won't restart and the computer has reverted back to Code, which I don't know beans about holy crap this stinks, someone please. ANYONE! HELP ME!

It's certainly possible you DLed some sort of virus, but I don't think the problem was necessarily caused by Limewire. Could you give some more details and specs please?

Run any sort of disk repair/recovery you have and virus protection and psot your specs and more details.

if the screen turned blue and you're on OSX, you experienced the very rare "kernel crash"

This is not a LW problem, but usually indicates a hardware problem. Easiest check is to unplug all firewire and usb stuff and restart holding down the shift key.

What OS are you using? It sounds like you were tossed into Open Firmware
Try this;

1. type: reset-nvram
2. Press Return.
3. If prompted for your password, enter it and press the Return key. It will respond OK.
4. At the Open Firmware prompt, type: set-defaults
5. Press Return. It will respond OK.
6. At the Open Firmware prompt, type: reset-all
7. Press Return.

Hope this helps,
Dave
