Default Limewire2.9 and Mac 9.2.2

I installed and when I start the program I get the set-up screen and that's it. It will not go any further. No buttons appear on the set up screen just the set-up wizard header. Anyone know what's up? Tech support doesen't know didly!

Question

Are you running a virus detection pgm in the back ground?

Norton anti virus does the same thing to me when its AUTO-PROTECT is on. I leave the extention active but turn off Auto-Protect and LW runs fine.

No. I don't run virus protection. Too many problems and Macs don't have a lot of problems with viruses. I finally gave up and dl'd an older version that works fine. It's not an extension conflict as it does the same thing with all extensions off. I guess I'll wait for a newer version. Hopefully it will be resolved

Question Limewire2.9 and Mac 9.2.2

do you have any other problems with other programs? sounds like a rom leak , but am not sure , could be low ram also , try turning up the virtual if you can and see what happens, and give the limewire more ram from the get info window.

No problems with any other programs or browsers. I have 2 gig ram and have allocated
500mb to limewire with no change in the problem.

I tried that to, still the same. The newest version I can run is 2.7.13 so something must have changed in 2.8 and up that is causing the problem. What bugs me is no one else seems to have this issue so it's got to be with my computer. I have the latest java installed and the problem will persist with all extensions off. Go figure! Tech support told me to run conflict catcher Well Duh! if it is still a problem with extensions off what good will that do?

Default WIZARD HAS NO BUTTONS

Hi,

You're not alone. See my posts.

I'm running Mac OS 9.2.2 (Not Jaguar/Classic) and LW Pro 3.2.2 produced a similar result to yours.

I've also run into quite a few posts of the same problem from other users. And the versions of LW run the gamut all the way from 2.9 to 3.2.2. The common theme is that the Wizard has no buttons to click. And once the problem occurs, it persists through countless uninstalls, trashing of limewire files, new downloads and installations and upgrades to new versions or returns to old previously working versions--which now suddenly won't work.

Something very serious is wrong, and something is being permanently ALTERED on our computers.

I'm trying to gather strength to reinstall my OS.

Don't bother reinstalling your OS 9.2.2. I already did that, and the same "button-less" wizard box appears after countless re-installs.
