Doc brown is flying high
Default Crashing Crashing... Oh Yeh More Crashing

I am having absolutley no luck with limewire what so ever.
If i am lucky enough to get limwire running for 30mins, downloading will be terminated during that period or...you gessed it'll crash my mac.
Limewire would at one stage run but i have never ever ever gained any major file download from it.
I am runnning a blu@white g3 350, 640mb mrj 2.2.5. nortons on, off makes no difference. I have not installed anything else on my mac since limewire and have also virus checked and disk doctored turning up nothing.
Any help would be gratfully recieved.
also do people think that with the full introduction of osx we are going to see less and less p2p for the classic platform i see that limewire is one of a few that is still supporting us (well some of us not me )

yours
a bewildered doc brown

Hi Doc--sorry to hear of your troubles. LimeDude knows OS 9 better than I do, but I recall the usual advice is to give LW at least 60 megs of memory. Giving the Apple Applet Runner (in the mrj folder) 60 megs has also been recommended. Search for posts by LimeDude to see more advice, like looking for extensions conflicts (removing FaxStf extensions helped some people).

I think LW is the only group still supporting classic on gnutella, because there are still so many like yourself.

Good luck

hi doc.
my experience is this.
I work with a powerbook G4 with norton antivirus installed but I can only use limewire if I disconnect "autoprotezione" ( I don't know in english may be "self protection" ).
with "autoprotezione" activated it ever breeze my mac during downloadig and more ofthen during "saving file" .
I make so: I download files and after doing it I scan them wit norton antivirus from the share folder.
Hoping I' ve been helpfull I bay you.

corrado.
