I'm new to this, so can anyone tell me if what I'm experiencing is the norm?
I downloaded LW onto my powerbook G4 - OS9.2. I've tried to download a couple of music tracks (4star rating) but after 3+ hours they're only 25% completed.
A lot of of the time it says 'awaiting sources' and when it is connected it's only between 0kb and 4kb. I'm using an ordinary phone lie - not broadband, but surely it shouldn't be this slow? I'm prepared to believe I've done something or not in the setup - I'd just like to know what. Or is this the best I can expect?

Sounds slow, but connections will be as slow as the slowest link in the chain of connections. Control-click on the search tab and choose "repeat search" to find more sources--perhaps some will be faster.

With OS 9 you should give LW at least 68 MB of memory--128 is even better.
