scrunched up limewire

hi, i'm running mac os9.1 on a 400mhz powermac g3. for several months, whenever i open limewire, every button, tab, or text field appears way tooo small to be functional or doesn't appear at all. i've tried manually removing all components before and after an uninstallation, and reinstalling as many versions from as many sources as there are, but to no avail. i can only suppose that this is a javascript problem, but i really have no idea. i know this is a rather obscure problem, but i was just hoping that someone else had had to deal with it at some point. if anyone has any insight, i'd appreciate it very much if you'd either post here or email me. thank you.
