Default Freezing Core Components

HELP! Has anyone gotten a difinitive answer on this... I installed the new version on my 9.1 running G3 blue tower (running quicktime 6.0.3) Monday and it worked fine all day, Tuesday morning it was fine and then froze mid-download. I restarted the computer and ever since Limewire will not even load, it gets to the "loading core components" portion and just freezes. I can't even sucessfully force quit.

I've downloaded a clean installer, uninstalled and reinstalled,
I've allocated 80MB of RAM to LW and 10MB to MRJ 2.2.5
I've disabled all the FaxSTF stuff

Any ideas would contribute greatly to the retention of my now teetering sanity.

check the size of your incomplete folder.

If you have too many incomplete files there, they may be a problem.

You might also want to check out the newest beta version, or see sberlin's suggestion for OS9 slowdowns here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=23077

Not a definitive answer, I know (good luck), but the best I could do with your details.

Smile THANK YOU!

Thanks! Over the weekend I resigned myself to the reality that it was proabably an extension conflict, so I booted with the extensions of and it finally launched and listed a bunch of "internal errors". I turned off some extensions I wasn't using like modem stuff and some DVD stuff (all apple stuff incidentally) and while I was at it, I purged my incomplete folder -I had about 64MB of incomplete stuff, not sure if that is a lot or not- and as of right now I am back up and running!
