![]() I am experiencing a problem launching applications (not music files) after downloading. They show up as blank documents.. I need to re-name them with the correct extension, (such as .mp3 on a music file)? I don't know what extension should be put at the end of a particular graphic application to make it launch (Quark Express). At the end of music files you put .mp3 and they turn into a real player file and can be launched. What should be done differently with application files such as Adobe Photoshop or Quark Express...? I am running Mac G3 0S9.2. Any help out there?? Thanks |

![]() Chances are, what you've DL'ed are disc images. What you'll need to do is get a copy of DiskCopy 6.3.3 from Apple (check to see if you don't already have a copy on your 'puter - you might already). It will read and open a disk image file. Now if it is a stuffed image, you'll need to unstuff first (go and get the newest Stuffit Expander), then run the DiskCopy and load it into a folder in the hard drive image. I ran into a few problems with checksum validation on the disc copy, because I didn't process the thing in the right order. Don't give up if the things don't work out - sometimes they have to be expanded, copied then expanded again! Deb. |
