Default limewire freezes when loading components

i had been using limewire for over a year and have never had any problems. lately it freezes when i try to launch it. it says loading components and just stops. i am running mac 9.2. i have the newest version, and i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, and that doesn't work either. Please help, i can't use anything else to download.

Do you get the same problem if you start up holding down the shift key (extensions off), or at least with a minimum set of extensions loaded?

I can't remember where all the LW prefs are stored in the system folder, but perhaps some have become corrupt.
