![]() The first time I used Limewire it worked great. Since then, every time I load it and run it, it freezes up, usually during a search tho not always. I thot it might be a memory problem so I gave it more memory but that didn't work. I run a 500mHz G3 iMac w/ 128megs RAM on OS 9. Could it be my modem? I have a 56k modem but only get 24k because of where I live (and no DSL in sight). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Theala Sildorian theala@ultimanet.com |

![]() This problem has to do with the version of Java available for the Mac. It uses something called "cooperative threading" that makes it very difficult to program even moderately sophisticated programs. That said, the best that you can do is to increase the memory allocated to LimeWire by as much as possible. I would set it to 40 megs or more. This will not solve the freezing problem, but it should improve it. |
