Don't go through the Library. Manually look for the files in the Finder: They should be in Home-> Shared or whatever folder has been specified as shared in Limewire->Options->saving. Go there and try opening them thru there.
I've never tried opening .pdfs myself so it may be that LW does not open these (like it does not open apps)
Thanks a bunch, but no such lunk. If I understood you correctly I for find, search for the file I want, and double click on it.... then, no, it still did not work

. . . .try dragging the .pdf files to the Acrobat Reader on OS 9. Acrobat usually has preferences to make it the default application for .pdf files too.
SOrry to sound like a computer illetuare.. btu, what do you mean? drag the file to adobe .exe?

When you said "- It's 9.2.1 or 9.2.0 ... not sure which"
"-I have imac purchased in late2001/early2002 and is a "deep"
blue colour(probably dosen't help... but I did talk to one imac
expert who could tell what my compuet was by the colour..)

I think most of us thought you were using a Mac computer not a pc! Why do you now refer to "drag the file to adobe .exe?" ???

Mac programs are not .exe files, that's pc!

By "Drag & Drop" we are referring to the basics of Mac use where we click onto the file (in your case a PDF), hold onto it & drag it across to the program (in this case Acrobat) & drop it onto the program's icon. This works in both OS 9 (& earlier) & X on a mac. Except in OS X you will probably have Acrobat in the Dock so it's easy to find & drop any PDF onto it.

If you are using LW on a pc for downloading the files you should have told us. For a start, if you are, you are in the wrong section of this forum. This section is for Mac users. Please give us moer specifics as to what computer system you are using for Limewire & about what you want.

I know what you mean about the drag and drop... and I understood you, I just thought it sounded too simple to be simple

K, I'll try, just hold on

ummm, well, I really need some one on one help here. I can't drag... because it's undragable in Library....... uh....... I'm really lost aren't I? >(

If you try to drag and drop from the library that is available when you click the Library tab of LW then no, of course you can't drag and drop.
You have to look for the files in the Finder (look for the Shared folder that can be found in OSX in the Home directory) and drag and drop them from there.
If you manage to find the files in the Finder, then you can also try ctrl-clicking them (holding Ctrl while clickng on them) and choosing "Open with". From there choose the application you want to open them with: if Preview is available for OS9 (and you have OS9) then choose that. If it doesn't work, try Quicktime. If that doesn't work try opening them in your web browser...
