By the sounds of it you're using pre-os9 right? Please let us know! For osx, iTunes is very easy to enable support for LW. For os9 the support is limited. By the way QT has a limited ability to play mp3's (keeping in mind there's many different kinds of mp3 out there.) You really need a dedicated mp3 player. The one that plays the most types of mp3 on the mac platform is Audion (google Audion) & there's versions for OS 8-X. It's shareware! But it even does better than iTunes by playing more formats (see the comparisons at the website.)

Default Audion

Hi, Thanks for the help. However now that I have downloaded Audion successfully, yet I still can't get a player to even appear much less play the music when I launch the tune. I know I must be leaving out a very important step, but what is it? I can't seem to link the two unctions at the same time.

LW in OS9 doesn't quite have the same support as in OSX. You'll need to go to your File Exchange Control panel to make Audion your default player. Add mp3 (if it's not already listed) & select Audion as its default player.) This 'should' do the trick!

Cool

If selecting iTunes (2.0.4?) isn't working for you through the play back preference, try going into the preferences of QT and adding iTunes as a program for playback.
