fast modem? hassle free share? applespyware? 24/7 mac?
 

i ve done all the searches and know now that as a mac osx, i must never use exe but dmg, maybe sit but NEVER awesome, please download etc

but a couple of questions for you generous folks out there:

is there a way to make modem faster? (i have waiting for 3 days for 'cupcake trailers')

and when 'cupcake trailers' came, i re-installed my os --i am that much of a cp dummy--and lost it and this leads to the second question:
DOES ANYONE KNOW IF APPLE DOES SPY IN ANYWAY??
(having 'cupcake trailers' finally so excited me that i was suddenly nervous apple was in on it through their .local and reinstalled my os thinking i cd undo whatever they installed at purchase!! )

thirdly, do 'SINs' generally work? it worked for the 'cupcake trailers' (the one i erased by error after a 72hour wait!) but i havent been able to make sinning for another file work.

also, does anyone know if running your mac 24/7 could KILL it?? this is a big stress of mine. i'm up nights freting over this.

finally, does any one have 'cupcake trailers' to share -FULLY INSTALLABLE? i need it sorely and have spent ever penny buying this handsome osx!
IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO SHARE, DO PLEASE SHARE IT PROPERLY (AS A FULL PACK FILE SHARE with all the working sins, compression/decompression info, etc)! (there are wanabes files there that aint right at all!!)

Ok, I'll answer a couple of your questions:
-It's recomended that you leave your comp at rest for awhile, give it a break. It's never good to overwork something.
-About the spying thing, I don't really know but I don't think so. I mean, I'm sure that they don't want people to get illegal copies off their stuff, but I'm not sure if they'd get as far as to actually resort to spying.

No.

What you can do is to change some settings in Limewire to improve your performance but you can´t download faster than your modem/connection allows it.

At least is goes faster... all what you use 24 hours will be ruined faster. You should try to work 24 hours a day you will see how long you will live. ;)

No. My mac is 24/7. It is recommended if possible that your computer stays open (except for the screen). Hardware hates to go from no tension (off) to tension (on). After thousands of that repeat cycle, it makes hardware get older faster. One thing to check though is the hard drive: a hard drive always writing/reading stuff gets older faster. P2P can be hard drive killer. But it never hapenned to me yet :D Also os x loves that computer stays awake: at midnight, os x runs maintenance scripts that clean your computer like when you restart it. If you make your computer sleep at that hour, your computer will get slower over the days. There are os x apps that can do those maintenance scripts whenever you feel. I cant´t imagine that its better for a comp to run 24/7 than to get sometimes a rest... and you should think about the extra power and the costs to run it 24/7... so my comp is running only when I need it. Actually almost 24/7...

Well my comp is also a web server. And an iMac G3 doesn't consume 1/2 the energy needed for a desktop PC. Gotta love apple hardware!

I bet is cost the double price. ;)

When I bought it 4 years ago, I could I've built an equivalent PC for half the price. But man, working in XP is a pain once you use os x. Quality and productivity has a price ;)

I didn't think correctly about physics (electicity and stuff). But I too find it kinda hard, not to believe, but, in a way, "absorb" (and do) what you say. I feel sorry for my comp... Poor thing... Doing overtime for it's greedy master....
