Default LW is missing a "save directory" -?

Can anyone help with this?

LW was working fine, but now it won't open- it loads, but a message box comes up saying that the "save directory" has been deleted or moved. (I don't know anything about that, but we recently upgraded our G4 to OS 9.2.1, and my 11-year old uses it a lot...)

LW seems to prompt me to add a new save directory, & the window that comes up seems to default to a "Root" folder. So, does anyone know what this save directory is, & where it's supposed to be?

BTW, I tried re-installing LW, & got the same result. I also tried updating with the LW download, but can't open the .bin file with my Stuffit.

If anyone can solve this mystery I would sincerely appreciate the info.

Thank you!

stief has a spectacular aura about
Default

I don't know if this will help (it's been a while since OS 9). . .

-- sometimes the Saved folder was created in the System Folder. Can Sherlock find it?

Try creating a new folder, name it "Shared", and put it on your desktop, or Documents (anywhere but inside the System Folder).

See if you can select it with LW
