File Launch Glitch? Trying LimeWire for the first time. First two downloads played back. Third will not open when I click on Launch. Tried more downloads and the same thing happens. HUH? Running OS 9.2.2 on Mac G3. I don't believe I changed any settings from the first two downloads. |
It's hard to know what you're talking about. I presume it's music. Keep in mind there's a large no. of mp3 formats out there as well as the newer mp2 format. The present versions of LW for OSX recognise most of these formats but since the OS9 development of LW has ceased there might be some issues. Also keep in mind that some music out there is corrupt. Mostly originating from T3 sources. Some people have suggested the music industry/riaa is flooding the network with corrupt files to stem people's enthusiam. May I suggest you get a hold of Audion for OS9 http://www.panic.com/audion/download.html which plays most formats incl. Ogg Vorbis which even iTunes can't play. You could than make this your default mp3 player by unticking LW's media player in LW's menu Options-Player. Also go to File Exchange Control panels & set Audion as the default player. Just a suggestion. :) |
Yes, the files are audio and I was searching for an alternative player when your message popped up. Thanks for the tip. |
Try, instead of selecting the song and clicking Launch, double-clicking on the file. Sometimes, for a reason that is completely beyond me, one works and not the other. |
