![]() I'm using Mac OS 9.2.2 and went to LimeWire's site to download LW 4.0.8, the most advanced one available to my OS. The download size is 11.64 MB, but the download stops and says "Complete" in my Download Manager after 50 to 800 KB. When I double-click on it to un-stuff it, it naturally refuses (it hasn't fully downloaded, and re-attempting the download merely starts it over again, maybe with a few hundred more or less KB. How do I get around this to get the software? |

![]() A new version LW 4.0.10 has been released today which has some bug fixes from 4.0.9 which was released a few weeks ago. Might I suggest you do a restart & re-build your desktop. ie: Restart whilst holding down the SHIFT key & keep it held down until you see message on screen asking whether to rebuild desktop folder. Click yes or OK. Then try re-downloading after a restart. The site will most likely still say version 4.0.8 but actually it's the above version! Also see this thread re: upgrading Java, etc.: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=33991 |

![]() I went and downloaded MRJ 2.2.6, turned off the Virtual Memory, and ran TechToolLite to rebuild my desktop (SHIFT didn't work.) The downloads still break off and have to be restarted. (My "Download Manager" for IE 5.1.7 sucks and doesn't resume interrupted downloads like it's supposed to.) I tried using the trial version of Download Deputy 5.1 and stuff downloaded with it doesn't work. Does anyone know any mirrors I can download LW 4.0.10 from? By the way, the text file in my attachment includes my computer specs, I don't know what information you need to help. Last edited by Pissed Off Rihanha; March 13th, 2005 at 12:38 AM. |

![]() I'm having this same problem downloading the new version from CNet-- it gets to a certain point in the process and then stops. I have tried the other fixes mentioned here (rebuilding etc.) with no luck. Is this a common problem? Has anybody figured out a way to make it work yet, or found any mirrors that offer it? |

![]() Alas, same results with Netscape-- it downloads a small percentage of the compressed file and then throws in the towel. The annoying thing is that I had the older version running just fine, but trashed it in order to download the "new and improved" version-- so now I have nothing! I understand maybe there aren't that many of us on geezer Mac Classic anymore, but it's pretty frustrating. |

CNET is refers the download link to your Limewire server for downloading. There is something wrong somewhere, and it isn't with my Mac, as it downloads fine from every other server! |
