no dice on the rebuild or restart. is there an alternative to using stuffit expander for .bin files? cuz for some odd reason, that error is rather unexplained on their site, calling it 'stuffit expander bug'

before, i could download it, expand it, and couldn't installer it unless booting up from extensions off.

so...i don't where the failure came in. espeically since i used the same 7.0.3 version of stuffit expander to expand it.

There are other options. There were previously a no. of others but can't remember what they were. Ah here's one: look for MindExpander (half way down page on left) & just click the link here: http://www.esm.psu.edu/mac-software/utilities.html

found out my problem. thanks LotR, but the file was the issue.

I.E. was downloading it at a 5.9mb file. my netscape browsers haven't shaken off me having speed download for awhile yet (don't know how to kill the browser plug in) which left me with iCab to get the file at its proper 11mb+

silly internet explorer.

I've heard of issues with IE before. And also with Speed Downld. Have a look in your SD folder, you should find an uninstaller within.

Go to your System folder>Internet plug-ins & see if the plug-in is in there. If yes, remove it.
