my free download version of lime wire just bounces in the dock then nothing ive tried downloading it again but samw old story help...

Try these: LW bouncing in Dock solutions (click on link) 1st try the Standalone Java installer!!!

Xcellent! It generally does the trick! It's not so much updating the Java but re-installing it in many cases.
