Unhappy Dear Lord of the Rings - I did a Homer!

Hi guys, just joined so this thread will be pretty boring and has probably been answered before but when it comes to tech I put the Ludd in luddite.

We had Limewire Pro going so well until one night I decided to 'clean up' the HD and thrashed the Limewire icon from HD.

In their advice they say to delete Limewire from Preferences and delete 'install limewire' receipt from Library/Receipts. Trouble is neither are/were there as far as I can see.

Is there any easy answer, I wouldnt even mind paying again and promising never to delete anythong again.

So what was your problem that you uninstalled LW? You can redownld it from your personal downld page if you're a pro user (& purchased it less than 6 mths ago.) I'd suggest you bookmark that page & make a backup of the installer.

If LW behaves a bit oddly or not working as efficiently as normal then you can delete the LW preferences which you should only do when LW is closed.

Thanks LOTR, yes I uninstalled it, I have my LimeWire Pro personal page, I have also deleted all the preferences, when I get the icon to install again nothing happens, LimeWire was working beautifully before I trashed it ! I am such an idiot, any other ideas ?

That's either b/c of a limewire pkg file sitting in your receipts folder or you need to reinstall Java. See: Can't launch LW: Bouncing in Dock (click on link)
