Lord of the Rings has a distinguished reputation

Also rebuild your desktop; ie: restart holding down Command (apple key) & Option keys. I don't know if this will have any effect in this case but it's something that should be done once every month or 2 & after installing new software. A run thru with Disk 1st aid might be worth the time also. These are general maintenance techniques you should use for OS 9. Not to mention the occasional disk defrag.

Stief it might also be worthwhile them having Java MRJ 2.2.6 for OS 9.2.2 (click on link) This is a slightly later version Java than the one Stief recommended, but reinstalling MRJ 2.2.5 & then 2.2.6 might be worth the effort. There may be a problem with your original installation of this Java.
