can't install the limewire on my iMac, PLEASE HELP

Hi there everybody, I'm magz and I have a big problem.
Ever since my iMac (OS 9.2.2) arrived back from the store where they were fixing it I downloaded Limewire again.
When the Limewire installer icon appeared on the desktop I proceeded with the ususal double clicking and waiting for the installment to begin.
So the first window said:

Prepairing to install...
Install Anywhere is preparing to install...
This may take a few moments.
Extracting this application's installer

After that a new message appeard saying all of the previous but instead of extracting it said:

Running this application's installer

A usual clock symbol appeared for a second and dissapeared.

I waited, and waited and nothing happened. No Limewire, no nothing. Just the same old Limewire installer icon and a full wastebasket (trashcan).

So I opened the trash and in it there were three items:

1. InstallAnywhere SEA.log
2. IA MRJInstaller (Delete) 127506
and
3. IA JavaInstaller (Delete) 42278

This problem first appeared 3 months ago and I thaught there was something wrong with the installer itself so I kept downloading it and downloading it for months on and everytime I try to install it this is what happens.

So please, I'm begging you good people help me solve this problem and have me running my good old limewire on my mac again.

Thank you all in advance.

MAGZ

a few ideas:

--try with "Extensions Off" (the service guys probably reset the Extensions Manager)

--reinstall Java from Apple http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75097

--try Cabo (a LimeWire clone for Mac OS 9 ) http://www.magnetdb.com/viewtopic.php?t=57

Also rebuild your desktop; ie: restart holding down Command (apple key) & Option keys. I don't know if this will have any effect in this case but it's something that should be done once every month or 2 & after installing new software. A run thru with Disk 1st aid might be worth the time also. These are general maintenance techniques you should use for OS 9. Not to mention the occasional disk defrag.

Stief it might also be worthwhile them having Java MRJ 2.2.6 for OS 9.2.2 (click on link) This is a slightly later version Java than the one Stief recommended, but reinstalling MRJ 2.2.5 & then 2.2.6 might be worth the effort. There may be a problem with your original installation of this Java. ;)
