![]() I read a previous question about chat but it didn't help me at all. The suggestion was to right-click on the host or file, but I have a single-button mouse, and when i click, control-click, shift-click (you name it, i've tried it), nothing happens. How can I chat with the people who are downloading my files? |

![]() On my iBook G3 I use command+click (apple+click, if you're a visual person) and the little menu comes up fine. Hope this works. I still have a problem, though. I click on "Chat with Host", my Mac thinks for a moment, then nothing happens. Is some sort of window supposed to come up? Or does nothing happen until the other user responds to the chat request? |

![]() Hahaha lol you people make me laugh .. sorry! lol You need to enable Chat 1st. Go to LW's Preferences>Chat & tick enable chat & press apply button. And yes, Control-Click is equivalent to window's Right-click. In most (but not all) cases, you can only chat with others that also have enabled. To see this you should add chat to your columns in all windows (search results, downld window, Monitor window.) To do this, Control-Click on the very top of the columns & a menu of view options will show. Then select Chat. Now with that column visible you can now see if the people you choose to send a chat to also have chat enabled. Then Control-click those with Chat icons on the above windows (results, downld, monitor) "Sometimes" but not very often, it's possible to send a chat to those that don't show the icon. But this is rare! For more on this, see: How to Direct Connect, Browse & Chat (OK this was originally a windows thread but you can apply the same ideas.) Hope this helps! ![]() ![]() |

![]() It seems to me reading this thread that the point that is not being addressed, is that even if Chat is enabled etc, It is very rare to actually get the Dialogue window to come up. I do not know if this a Mac specific problem. This is my question, and I think that of others, and Please has anyone got the answer??? I have a windoze mouse with wheel and usb connection which works fine and why Apple refuse to use a proper mouse is beyond me. G3 OSX10.3.9 Limewire Pro 4.8.1 Java 1.4.2_05 |
