Default mp3's wont play

I wanted help on knowing why i cant hear some of the songs and things that i download. I download things and when i click it to launch the song does not play. Could anyone help me with the problem and tell me how to solve it.

Default MP#s on a Mac

To convert the blank Limewire files into a Quicktime format, simply drag the file to the desktop and shorten the file name. The file must end in .mp3 in order to work. This same trick works for jpg or mpeg files which don't appear to have downloaded. Apparently, files which have too long a title drop the file designation off when they are transfered.. This has worked with every files I've tried…
