These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. File names are not required to discuss your issues. If filenames are copyright then do not belong on these forums & will be edited out or post removed. Picture sample attachments in posts must not include copyright infringement. 2. Spamming and excessive advertising will not be tolerated. Commercial advertising is not allowed in any form, including using in signatures. 3. There will be no excessive use of profanity in any forum. 4. There will be no racial, ethnic, or gender based insults, or any other personal attacks. 5. Pictures may be attached to posts and signatures if they are not sexually explicit or offensive. Picture sample attachments in posts must not include copyright infringement. 6. Remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at other threads and see where your post will go. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. There are specific Gnutella Client sections for LimeWire, Phex, FrostWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, and many more. Please choose the correct section for your problem. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. Keep in mind a forum censor may temporarily automatically hold up your post, if you do not see your post, do not post again, it will be dealt with by a moderator within a reasonable time. Authors of multiple copies of same post may be dealt with by moderators within their discrete judgment at the time which may result in warning or infraction points, depending on severity as adjudged by the moderators online. 10. Posts should have descriptive topics. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. Reiterating, do not post your email address in posts. This is for your own protection. 12. Signatures may be used as long as they are not offensive or sexually explicit or used for commercial advertising. Commercial weblinks cannot be used under any circumstances and will result in an immediate ban. 13. Dual accounts are not allowed. Cannot explain this more simply. Attempts to set up dual accounts will most likely result in a banning of all forum accounts. 14. Video links may only be posted after you have a tally of two forum posts. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. 15. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues. Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. How Do I Access Limewire Pro Support? Greetings, This is my first post, so forgive me if I make mistakes. I recently purchased LimeWire Pro for MAC OSX Tiger, and am using it. I appreciate the value of "personalized support," a feature explicitly offered with Pro, and the primary reason I selected Pro. When I attempted to contact LimeWire Pro Support, however, I found myself in a dead-end loop. I followed the on-screen prompts, entered the email address I used to order LimeWire, hit the GET SUPPORT button, and was taken to a page comparing the features of BASIC and PRO - with no apparent link to support. If there is one, I can't find it. I expressed this concern in a "feedback" email to LimeWire and received no reply. I am concerned, to say the least. - madlad (madlad888@sbcglobal.net) |

Thanks, Only a Hobo - I appreciate any help I can get here. I purchased Pro on 12/6/05 and paid $18.88. I have the email receipt, which also includes a link for me to download Pro. I don't recall a 2nd email. I "think" I downloaded it okay, but if you read my 2nd longer post from tonight, and if the issues I raise there seem to you bizarre or unfamiliar, then perhaps I don't have the program I'm supposed to have. But I think I do. Meanwhile, I see NO link to Pro Support that opens an email template for me to write my question. It is as I described it: a closed loop that just sends me to a sales page every tiime I hit the GET SUPPORT button. I've tried every support link I see there: CLICK HERE IF YOU NEED HELP WITH PRO, etc., and they all take me to that page that says: ENTER THE EMAIL ADDRESS YOU USED WHEN YOU BOUGHT PRO, then hit GET SUPPORT. Then it starts all over again... Any suggestions? - madlad |

Thanks, Hobo. And thanks, Lord. I appreciate your help. I purchased on Dec 6, 2005 - sorry for that ambiguity. I have never seen nor do I seem able to access the WELCOME TO SUPPORT page Hobo describes. I have no idea why (but I'm at least relieved to know it exists!) When I followed the link provided by Lord of the Rings, I entered my email address and was taken to WELCOME TO YOUR LIJMEWIRE DOWNLOAD page, where downloads for various platforms are provided. This page shows version 4.10.0 Pro as current, while a Get Info on my own installed Pro shows version 4.9.37 at 15.5 MB on disk. So my version is a bit out of date already. Should I download 4.10.0 and try that? - madlad |

A few people, Only A Hobo for example have had problems with 4.10. Unless you're having big problems I'd stick with 4.9.37 Or at least make a backup of the installer/program. BTW for pro support click here as I suspect you were clicking the wrong link on the support page. lol I think you were clicking one of the links below it. If that should happen again, clear the cache on your browser. What are the problems you're having anyway. Perhaps we can help. We're not experts (& certainly not paid) but we may be able to assist. |

Thanks, Lord. Ok, I just used the Support link you just provided (same one I've been trying all along btw), and, as before, when I hit GET SUPPORT it took me here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml This is a sales page that shows a vertical list comparison of features btwn Pro and Basic, and invites you to choose/buy. On this page I do NOT see any link to support, and it clearly is not the page HOBO described. So I am being re-directed or hijacked on my way to support and I cannot fathom why. As to the problems I'm having, last night I originally posted two threads. If you read my 2nd thread post ("UNGODLY FREEZES AND FRAGMENTATION"), in it I describe my issues in detail. - madlad P.S. I no longer have my LimeWire Installer. How do I get another? |

pro support Hi Madlad - I have had exactly the same problems with accessing pro support. i bought the basic programme yesterday and having used it for a couple of hours decided to upgrade to pro. I followed the instructions and paid the extra, then downloaded the new program. my main problem is that the new software is the same as the old - lime wire 4.9.23 and not 4.10. I have been trying to contact pro support to resolve the issue without success. have you got any further with this? |
| |||
rmj. I think If I read you right that you are in a different situatiomn and have bought from a scam site... and I cannot work out if you are trying to get"pro" from the same site or from www.limewire.com. Please tell us how much you are being asked to pay and the exact location of the site. See the sticky about obtaning p2p progwmmes at the top of most of the forums |

Hi hobo, thanks for your response. i installed the original software then decided a few hurs later to upgrade and followed the instructions from my software upgrade pop up. It took me to the lime wire site where i purchased pro for $18.88 via paypal. i have the reciept number and have been trying all week to get a response from limewire but to no avail. I could be getting all of this wrong so could you tell me what version lime wire pro is? i have limewire version 4.9.23. I'm completely stuck and not sure what to do. I've been enjoying the lime wire programme and really want to upgrade to improve my download speed. Any suggestions would be a huge help. Thanks again. |
