![]() When Limewire downloads an audio file, it gives it a creator code of TVOD, with the result that when the file is double-clicked, the Apple MoviePlayer is launched to play it. (This is apparently a fix installed in version 1.7, before that it used the Limewire creator code.) Others have complained about this frequently -- search this forum on the word "creator" to see. I would like to play my audio files using Audion which uses a creator code Audn, but other people have other favorite players, e.g. iTunes or SoundJam with creator code SJAM. It is possible for a user to change the creator code but that is not a standard Finder operation -- you need various shareware programs to do it, and it is a manual step you have to go through before you can play a file. Limewire could fix this easily with a Preference setting for the 4-letter Creator code to use when creating an audio file. |
