This is really odd as there doesn't seem to be much mention of ZGNativeUtilLib and a fix anywhere. Some ideas here: try the large Mac installer if you haven't or reinstall MRJ and then try the smaller installer. Installing with extensions off or looking for an extension conflict (so you can run LimeWire) is also a possibility. Rebuilding the desktop may help. |

I've sent your error logs over to the ZeroG support team to see if they can come up with anything. I'll post back here if I find out more. Have you tried running the 2.1.1 installer? The version of InstallAnywhere in 2.1.1 is significantly updated over the version included in 1.7. Also, was the error log you sent in from the 1.7 installer or from a newer one? If you have not tried the newer installer, I would definitely give it a try. |

Thanks for your help, unfortunately I've tried all three installers, opening without extensions, and all the other suggestions I'd already tried. So far none of those has had any effect on it. I think I may upgrade to OSX here shortly, though... Still, I'd like to find out what the problem is. It seems to me I've had it once before with another Java program and I fixed it somehow, but I can't remember! Frustrating! (Maybe I reinstalled MRJ... but that didn't do anything this time.) |

ON Extensions: Extensions are just that. They are alpha ROM patches. Java (as an example) is NOT on track for ROM inclusion. At least not yet. ON ZGNativeUtilLIB: I'm completely lost on this one. Alt.gnutella has almost nothing to say about it. When I downloaded the Installer (G3 WGS6150) it tried to install MRJ2.5.5 to MacOS 8.6. After rebooting, and re-running the Installer (and re-running the Installer) it just kept making multiple copies of the Limewire_Installer in the trash. Strangely, the Apple Extras Applet runner wouldn't run. That implies that the Installer didn't install MRJ. When the Limewire_Installer is clicked, rather than silently quitting, it reports that the undocumented "ZGNativeUtilLib" couldn't be found. It then gives up and quits. Clearly, there's a bug in the Installer. The question: Where do I go from here?? B. |
