Default launching limewire on my g4 mac

i recently downloaded limewire 2.1.1 for my g4 mac os9.1.
whenever i try to launch it, everything is fine until the search window opens, then the computer freezes.
this has happened on 9 out of ten attempts.
then on the the forced reboot, as disc first aid scans the hard drive it tells me it is making repairs and this takes about one minute.
i have tried launching from both the desktop alias and the actual application, this makes no apparent difference.
what is going on?

Lightbulb Similar experience

Hey, I have a G4 myself and I recently started having troubles similar to yours. Every time I downloaded an item my computer would freeze up. These suggestions might help if your still having trouble. Try assigning more memory to your application ar if you haven't upgraded the amount of memory in your machine, you might want to, memory is real cheap right now and it wouldnt hurt to have your programs run better in general. It could also be your internet connection possibly if your using 64k you might wanna upgrade to dsl or cable. If your still having trouble just save all your LW files and reinstall. Please let me know how things are doing for you my fellow G4 owner.
Peace

Default g4 problems launching limewire

message to tree;
thanks for suggestions, however i already have 384 ram and am connecting on cable.
problem happens just as launch window opens, lime icon just starts to turn then computer freezes.
i have uninstalled several times and re-downloaded from different sites, to no avail.
the other thing that troubles me is, as the g4 is rebooting the window pops up saying the computer was not shut down properly, and as the progress bar gets to the end it says that it is REPAIRING the hard drive. this did not happen before!
Can anyone frome limewire address this matter?
thanks mrzora

I'm not from LimeWire but something is amiss in your hard drive directory and Disk First Aid is trying to fix it. Sometimes Disk First Aid can't fix it. To see if the problem is still there, open the Disk First Aid application after your computer starts up and verify your disks, repairing if necessary. Verify again if you repair to be sure all problems are fixed. If you have Norton Utilities, TechTool, or another disk repair program try running that. You certainly have enough RAM.
