![]() OK kids, here's a scenario. You've just downloaded a 400 mb MPEG file without a hitch. The last 12 hours were not spent in vain. All seems right in the world for a change. Then...you go and open the file in Quicktime and to your horror, the file could not be opened because a software component needed by the file could not be found. You frantically try other media players but to no avail. Whachu gonna do? Whelp, you go on the forum and see if anyone has a fix. So... the question I pose is this: Does anyone know of a program or a way to fix a MPEG file with the missing software component? Thanks a mill. Spaz. |

![]() You know what's really sad? The fact is that I have to answer my own post after I searched for a solution to my query. Does anyone actually know what the heck is going on with LIMEWIRE? I sure as heck don't. Anyways, there's a site with a program that can try to fix your MPEG files. It doesn't work all the time but it got me the last couple of minutes of a 400 mb Star Trek Enterprise MPEG file so at least I knew what the ending was. Here it is: www.vcdgear.com cheers, Spaz. |

![]() Another nice tip from me: if you want to burn those mpegs on a vcd and your toast refuses the file (a little too often..), then go to www.versiontracker.com and get the demo of discribe 5.01. it's a cd-burner like toast, but much more tolerant in accepting several mpgs. The Demo allows the free burning of 5 cds!!!!!!! I use this prog as an joker for the very hard cases :-) It allowed me to burn finally some futurama episodes, toast won't accept anyway, I hope someone is happy now ![]() cu Mike waiting for the return of the resume-feature... |
