Default limewire crashes when taskswitching...

When I open limewire and change to (i.e.) finder, the program crashes. I use the free version. Is this some sort of 'buy the real thing, and you won't be bothered with this'-teaser, or is this a known problem..?

Help please...

Thanx in advance,

Bastiaan

Exclamation

I have the same problem. It gives an error type 2, which I think means it believes its a memory related error....

Do you know that there is a FAQ?
Look here:

Unhappy Error Type 2/3

I was unable to get the full FAQ page. I have a cable modem &
a fast Mac with LOTS o' RAM & hard drive space. I have tried
Virtual Memory on & off, tried reallocating much much more than
recommended memory to LimeWire & IE so I can switch between
tasks, but LimeWire still crashes. I don't switch back and forth
rapidly, only occasionally.

Is there an ideal memory allocation on a Mac besides the one
recommended by LimeWire? I just want to figure out how to
efficiently configure things so it stops crashing. The Type 2/3
error messages refer to problems with memory, but I have plenty
memory. In addition, LimeWire is the only program in which this
error message pops up. Help!

Ahem, you don't have to read the entire FAQ but only the link that I sended.
However, here is the solution:

Q: I keep getting Type 2 errors when I click on the Mac menu bar. Is there anything I can do to avoid this?

A: The FAXstf software, included with some Macintosh bundles, is sometimes incompatible with the Macintosh Runtime for Java (MRJ), which LimeWire uses. If you experience crashes when clicking in the menu bar while running Java applications, you should disable the FAXstf software. From the "Apple Menu", select "Control Panels" and open the "Extensions Manager". Click the On/Off box to remove the "X" for each of the following Extensions; FaxMonitor, FaxPrint, STF Phonebook Lib, STF Toolbox, STFInit. When you are done, reboot your computer. While this software is disabled, you will not be able to send or receive FAXs. To use FAXstf, re-enable the extensions and reboot. Remember to disable these extensions again before running another Java application. This should be fixed in LimeWire 2.2.0 and above.

If you have any other problems, tell me.
