yeah i'm having the same problem, i regret getting the new version. my files open up in real player when i launch them, before the upgrade it was itunes.
i don't know whats going on.

but there is something that can be done until LimeWire fixes this.

first don't launch them from within Limewire. Open Itunes and under Advanced go 'convert to MP3'. this might seem stupid that your converting a mp3 to a mp3 but it works. select the Mp3 file that you downloaded and and what itunes will do is make a copy of the Mp3 and put it in your itunes music folder as Itunes Mp3. then you can trash the other one.

I tried going into Advanced in Itunes and using "Convert to MP3" in order to play dowloads in Itunes, but that didn't even work. I was wondering if those that this did work for were using Itunes I... I have Itunes II, which is new, and it didn't work for me... Thanks.

if the converting to MP3 did not work then try this

when you download the Mp3 don't launch them from within Limewire but instead close limewire and go to your shared folder in the Limewire folder which should be in your harddrive somewhere and double click on the MP3 file. a window should pop up asking which application you want to open the file in, CHoose Itunes. if this doesn't work !!!!!!

Then open Itunes and go under File Menu and select 'Add to Library' and then find the Mp3 file and it should work.

or better yet go to the 'edit' menu and select 'Preferences'. Under the 'General' Tab and hit the button beside where it says 'use itunes for internet music playback' that's it. the next time when your in limwire launch a file from the shared folder and it should play in itunes.

good luck.

Default itunes...all better now!

Go to download.com and get iTuner 2.7.2
It's a drag and drop app, throw all your mp3's on it and it will convert them to Itunes files. I did aoubt 1000 mp3's in about 20 seconds. This should fix your problems. Good luck!

You need to set your System prefs so iTunes will
be the default player. I like iTunes better for that.

It's easiest if you throw out your iTunes preferences folder (this time it
is a folder, quit iTunes first) and re-launch iTunes. It should ask you if
you want to use iTunes as the default player and it will search for files if
you want it to.

You will lose any play list you set up though.

Question which type of mp3

ok so i went to file exchange and i assume you're talking about the mp3 things under the "pc exchange" tab...but when i chose itunes there were 2 choices...mp3 and MP3--what's the difference between the uppercase and lowercase mp3 extension and which one is the correct one? when i changed the filetype, it also put an exclamation point after it in the display of file type...is that bad?
