I figured it out YAY! O.K. the problem is unless u have OSX you don't get the LimeWire Mp3 player built in Sooooo you have to open your mp3 files with a different program. I'm using Quicktime. I went into my Hard Drive and opened the LimeWire folder, made an alias for the "shared" folder which holds the downloaded mp3s. I open my Quicktime click open movie then click on "shared" folder them the mp3 i want to play and it converts it ! Sounds complicated but it's not and with a Mac what choices do we have???grrrrrr This is my last Mac I hope everyone figures it out o.k. Good luck! |

try going into itunes and under the edit menu select preferences and then hit the button next to where it says 'use itunes for internet playback' that should do the trick. i did this and now i can launch the mp3 files from within limewire and they play in itunes. if this doesn't work then just go to itunes and under 'File' menu select 'add to library' and find the files that you want to play. |

F**K this new version of limewire. Having the same problems as everyone about opening the completed files in itunes. Seems as though realplayer is the only software able to open them. Any help on this would be appreciated. If no solution, I so wish I never would have upgraded. thanks |

Your mac thinks the file is a limewire file. Download "File Buddy" and use it to change the file type at the root level. Make it a quicktime (for mp3s) or stuffit (for programs) file, then it'll open. Limewire 17c solves this problem. Took me while to work it out too, but its all in the archives on this forum if you wanna look. Andrewk4 |
