Default MAC help (.exe files)

when downloading files that say tehy are for OSX or mac, many turn out to be setup.exe files when unzipped --cannot run on a mac. Can anyone help?

I have an IMAC. I am searching for programs with osx platform. Many of the results are zip files and when unzipped the files are setup.exe files for a pc. For example, Quark is for mac and results for a search gives some dmg and some zip. Why would the results give zip files with .exe files inside when the search is filtered for OSX?

Thanks for the response

Probably the zip files didn't include the files for OSX...mistakes are not impossible. >_<

Spammers find ways to return junk no matter what the search terms are.

Frankly, I'd not trust any app for OS X on a p2p network, even when specifying .dmg in the search terms.

Many many legitimate OS X apps have a web site that offers a decent trial version for free, so I use Apple-Menu->Mac OS X Software . . .

I have the same problem, I use LimeWire for about I don't know like 6 years, but lately all I get is hidden in downloads for MAC those stupid exe files for windows. I have OX10.5 run LimeWire 4.12 for MAC, if I search I always put "MAC" or dmg in it, only sh....t I get. That is a real waste of time and download capacity. Oh I miss the time they where not zipped or what so ever, just showed the dmg so you new what you are downloading. And it seems no help here either to avoid the download of exe hidden. They also put for MAC in the name of the file and still only shows exe, so I guess they are just teasing Mac users those windows users. I don't know about mistakes that can sometimes happen, but out of 10 there are now 9 if not all 10 exe. So I ask myself who keeps himself busy with that.
