![]() I was running Limewire on my Mac when it spontaneously quit downloading. I tried to close it and I got a system error message and my Mac froze. On reboot, I got the blinking folder icon with the question mark, so now my HD is gone. All of this happend about two hours after running the latest upgrade for Limewire. I think that using this program is a serious risk, and I would definately avoid the upgrade. |

![]() C'mon geezer.... If youve got a mac you should be used to random freezes by now. And the blinking folder icon at the start.... Yer HD hasnt "gone" your mac is just having problems finding some folders it uses for startup. All you need to do is reset your PRAM. Restart then immediately hold down [option]+[applekey]+[R]+[P] (make sure caps lock isnt on) Hold this down till you hear the startup niose a second time..... and woooohoooo yer HD is "back" Now stop whinging and go make me a cuppa tea. ![]() If you have an OS CD, Norton, TechTool or similar CD start up with that. You might need to hold down the "c" key for it to startup off the CD. Run Disk First Aid, Norton, or TechTool and attempt to fix problems (especially with boot blocks and b-trees). |
