dmg files ???
 

Hi there

I hope someone can help me.

What's a dmg file? I've downloaded a 150 mb file and it just wont open. I never heard of this kind of file.

Wat the **** is it and how can I open it.

you can open with bbedit lite for one probably many more. try opening it from within a text application with the open command. note that the file might be to big for simple text to open.

'.dmg' is a file compressed by DiskCopy, so it's an image. If the file doesn't have an Icon on it, or has that icon that looks like a blank document, then try dragging the file and dropping it on the Disk Copy application.
Remember that not every thing you download works! And most of the .dmg files are O.S X applications.

how about mac os x dmg files? how do i open them so i can install os x?

I find that the best programme to open .dmg files with in mac os 9 is Disk_Copy6.5b11 . I have a copy of this file so if you don't find it around the net, email me : ciscokid@tomgreen.com

I have found no way to open dmg file if the are listed as Limewire files. If anyone has an answer please post it . Cheers
