Question Big problems with mpg playing

Hi guys:
I use to have the same problem as another guy over here ("failed complet downloads"), but anyone answered him.
While I'm downloading .mpg I can watch them with the LW launcher, but the movies seemed to be cut in several films, I mean, when the QTPlayer shows to end, I slide back the cursor and discover that the film continues again and again till reach the real end of the film. But... whe the downloaded ends I couldn't do it again, and QT only shows the firsts seconds of a 70 mb film.
Whats happening, it's the first time I come with something like this.

Thx for your help !!

However, I've also had alot of those mpg's, and i searched all over the internet to find a answer or fix to the problem:

The .mpg file was originally divided, i.e made up of smaller movie clips, For example, a 140 Mb .mpg file was ten 14 Mb files. then, someone joined these files on a PC windows system, this works fine on a Pc, unfortunately not on mac. So what you see is only the first 14meg file... (ofcourse, some will work on mac)

There is no solution to this which you can do on a mac (as i know of), however, there is tricks to workaround it (works 85% of the time, hehe), start playing the movie and just before the end, stop playback (often u will see the image switch) and move the "playmarker" to almost the beginning...

This way u can see the whole movie if u absolutely want to.

It's a codec issue, that won't be solved until apple releases quicktime 6 maybe?

OR : Use windows and convert the movie mpg to divx or mov or even mpg to mpg...

the odd thing is, as you too have experienced, that when the file is incomplete, one may see more than when it's complete, no clue why.
