Unhappy Opening doanloaded file launches LimeWire

I downloaded a Sit file on my mac without any problems but when I opened it, it launched LimeWire (And opened the LimeWire home webpage) instead of opening the file. Does it mean that I can't open certain Sit files or is ther a way to use these downloads?
Thanks for helping me with this problem.

Won't work.
Get yourself a free demo copy of MP3Rage and see the post in this forum about "Limewire Documents" for how to use MP3Rage to fix ANY kind of document, YES IT'S CALLED MP3RAGE BUT IT WORKS ON OTHER KINDS OF FILES TOO.
