awb555 has a spectacular aura about
Default AT&T copyright notice

I haven't used any P2P in a few years and the first week I do I get this:
AT&T copyright notice-capture.jpg
Any advice besides quit?

Don't grab newly released or unreleased stuff would be the first thing.

If you hardly use P2P as you state and you feel you are taking unnecessary risk, then by all means call it quits or get better protection e.g. a proper VPN service to route you traffic through.

I don't personally use a VPN or any other anonymizing service, but am quite careful what, where, when and how I use P2P. If I was located anywhere that the copyright trolls had any pull, then I would most likely get myself a dedicated server from a reputable company and route everything securely through there.

Probably one of these VPN services: https://torrentfreak.com/anonymous-v...w-2015-150228/
You need to read their research results to find which are the more trusty ones should worse come to worse (ie: worst case scenario). There's 3 pages of VPN listed services.

You should really have started a new thread topic because your topic does not match this thread's topic. No doubt you do not use AT&T services so it's unlikely.

Ask the WS dev., he apparently knows 'everything' about the gnutella network. By the looks of the way the WireShare project is heading, you will without a doubt find a lot more spam, virus & fake results in your search results. They are presently considering built-in non-configurable auto-censorship which has very little to do with spam but instead it will limit what you can find & download. They will go one step better than the authorities would have hoped/pressured for the LW devs to do.

That's very interesting about your possible copy right spy! Have you ever gotten a letter?

Lord\Sleepless,
Are private trackers safe?

With private trackers there are some things to consider. the two biggest factors are membership count and how easy they are to get into.

The safest trackers are the ones that stay under the radar for the most part. Less than 50.000 members (Maybe even 20.000). Always closed for signup (invite or application form/interview reviewed by staff before being accepted). Other things like SSL browsing or even better SSL tracker as well as site specific torrent hashes are probably the safest ones.

But in the end as long as you are using your home line to download and share it depends on what you download. If you are worried about staying safe, then definitely invest in the added layer of security a trusted VPN or seedbox provider gives you.

I am a member on some trackers that I would say are safe. But these are old, really small <5.000 members, secured in any possible way and form and hardly accept any new members ever if any at all.

I sense that you think that wireshare is not the best application for me given my interest in music from 1960 to 1980 ; would you advise pirate limewire is my best option ?
